SOMMERKINO: FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF

The Sommerkino presents “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986) for free and outdoors this Thursday. The Coming-Of-Age classic from the 1980’s featuring Matthew Broderick is presented on a large screen and you are free and encouraged to bring your own food, drinks and seats. Only 500 people are allowed the entrance, though. Doors are open at 8 pm. More information here.

KULTURSOMMER WOLFENBÜTTEL: RUDY REYES & HAVANNA CON KLASSE

Rudy Reyes, a Cuban musician, will present pure Cuban music with his band on this Friday in front of the Lessing Theater in Wolfenbüttel. As part of the Kultursommer festival it will be a free show that will start at 8pm.Wolfenbüttel is easily reachable by bus (420) and train coming from Brunswick. More information here.

AERIE FESTIVAL

This Saturday the Aerie Festival will take place for the very first time in Querenhorst, a small village next to the former Border with the GDR. The Indie Rock festival will last for one day and will feature some prominent name, such as Leoniden or Kroner. Tickets will cost around 15€. Querenhorst is reachable by train (RB 40 to Burg bei Magdeburg) and then by a short bus ride from Helmstedt. More information here.

LUNAR ECLIPSE: STERNFREUNDE

The astronomical highlight of the year will take place on the evening of July 27th, 2018. After 2015, we can experience a total lunar eclipse from Central Europe again. The “star friends” in Braunschweig-Hondelage have a clear view at their observation station in Wendhausen. From 19:00 on Friday they meet there on site to observe and photograph the total lunar eclipse until shortly after midnight in good weather. Visitors are welcome. More information here.
