SCHUNTERKINO: KING OF THIEVES – July 18th

The SchunterKino cinema shows King Of Thieves starring Sir Michael Caine twice. Tickets costs 3 € and the screenings start at 8:30 pm. The movie will be shown in German. A group of elderly men plan a large heist, robbing precious jewelry. The events in the film are based on a real story. More information here.

BRAUNSCHWEIG: SCHUNTILLE UNPLUGGED – July 19th

The Schuntille hosts two local singer-songwriters on a swimming stage on the lake. The whole show is unplugged, free and starts at 7:30 pm. Christian Wilde and Marvin Schulz will perform. More information here.

EXPOSITION: 100 Jahre Weimarer Verfassung, 70 Jahre Grundgesetz UNTIL Aug. 31st

The Grundgesetz,  the constitution of the German Federal Republic was agreed on by the parliamentary council and rectified by the Allies back in 1949.  2019 marks the 70th anniversary and thus makes the constitution of the GFR 56 years older than the constitution of Weimar which was abolished by the national socialists and was previously agreed on a century ago. To commemorate  these historic events the city library in the Schloss shows an exposition of literature of that time. More information here  (p.31)
