Braunschweig, Jazz Concert: Chettin´3 for Chet – March 6th, 8:00 pm

On May 13, 1988, Chet Baker, one of the greatest trumpeters of jazz, died. CHETTIN´3 is a tribute to him, whose career as a trumpeter began with a meteoric rise in the 1950s and ended tragically in 1988 in Amsterdam. The trio consists of Walter Kuhlgatz (trumpet), Elmar Vibrans (piano) and Heinrich Römisch (bass) and is based on the typical sound of the drumless formations with which Baker, especially in his late years, made memorable interpretations of such standards as “But not for me” or left “My funny valentine”. The audience is taken on a melancholic, swinging journey.
