Here they are: The fresh biweekly Gauss tips from November 3rd to November 16th, 2021

Slam-Edition #7 November 3rd, 2021 at 7:00 pm

The Science Slam is a short presentation tournament for young scientists that focuses on communicating scientific content in a popular scientific way. In ten minutes, the science slammers have to present their own research topic in a way that is as understandable, comprehensible and entertaining as possible. In the Science Year 2020|21, the slams will be held on the topic of bioeconomy.
In edition #7 slam for you:

  • Elena Michel, University of Bayreuth, Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geosciences, Urban and Regional Development: „Strohstadtstaunen“.
  • Michael Bojdys, King’s College London, Department of Chemistry: “Off Balance – warum (chemisches) Gleichgewicht Mist ist.“
  • Holger Kühnhold, Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), Bremen: „Nahrungs-Quallen der Zukunft“.

35th Braunschweig International Film Festival   until November 7th, 2021

Today, the Braunschweig International Film Festival is the oldest film festival in Lower Saxony, a public festival with around 27,500 visitors, including around 300 professional visitors such as directors, actors, producers, composers and journalists. Almost 230 short and feature-length films, exciting special events, for example at Braunschweig Cathedral, Braunschweig State Theater and Eulenglück, an impressive quota of women as well as the highest prize money to date for the total of nine BIFF awards: the Braunschweig International Film Festival is setting itself up strongly with a hybrid edition. From November 1st to 7th, it invites to various venues in the Lion City as well as to numerous online streams.

Braunschweig Projects 2019–2021: WHAT I NEEDED WAS IMAGINATION … – until November 11th, 2021

The final exhibition of the current Braunschweig Projects scholars 2019-2021 poses new challenges: A total of ten artistic positions can be seen and heard, half of them from the field of sound art alone. The resulting range of artistic practices includes installation, drawing and painting, sculpture, photography, video, and sound works in equal measure, and is distributed across six locations throughout the campus at Johannes-Selenka-Platz and Broitzemer Straße.
